In order for something to work you need to know why you are doing it. Having a purpose is the fuel that powers perseverance.
In Chapter 7 I wrote about the importance of having a vision to direct you. Having a strong vision gives you that sense of purpose to keep you going when the going gets tough. Then from this vision you establish little goals that get you closer to realizing your vision.
Once you've established your vision or your purpose for starting an exercise program, you need to surround yourself with people who have a strong sense of purpose in their lives as well. They become your strength when you are weak. If you know somebody who has a similar vision and is committed to exercise, then you need to spend time with them. Follow their example.
Finding people to hold you accountable for your exercise program and the goals you've set will greatly contribute to your success.
