Why People Fail at Exercise: 1. A Negative attitude will get you nowhere

It is amazing how powerful attitude is in our life. Charles Swindol once said, "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life." He goes on to say, "The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day...we are in charge of our attitudes."

If you have a negative attitude toward exercise it's because of a choice you've made. You can't blame it on circumstances, limitations or other reasons. If it is to be it's up to me. Your attitude will determine your actions and these actions will determine your accomplishments.

If you try to start an exercise program with an attitude that says you're doing it only because you should, it will lead to failure. Famous motivational speaker Zig Ziglar says, "Feelings follow actions. So when you don't really want to or feel like doing what needs to be done-do it and then you will feel like doing it." What Zig is saying is that sometimes you just have to start doing something in order to change the way you feel about it.

Once you get started with exercise and begin to see the positive effects it provides your attitude will quickly change. When it does you'll be amazed with the progress you make.

"A human being can alter his life by changing his attitude." ~William James
