In all my years working in the fitness industry I have never heard an excuse used more often than, "I don't have time to exercise." Saying that to a person who has given numerous speeches on "Finding Time to Exercise" (that being me) often falls upon deaf ears. Many times I feel like bombarding them with a barrage of questions about their daily routine.
We each have the same number of hours in a day. It's up to you how to spend them.
Did you know that in America today the average person watches approximately 24 to 30 hours of television a week? Wow! You're probably thinking, "That's not me, no way!"
Here is another example of a very popular activity that uses your time. Do you have access to the Internet in your home? A study by Arbitron, a media research firm specializing in music, trends and branding, found that the average person who has broadband (high speed) Internet spends 134 minutes per day online. That is over two hours a day!
If you are one of those people who have used the excuse of not having enough time to exercise, you are not alone. Lack of time is one of the most commonly cited reasons that people either don't start an exercise program or fail to stick with it. Even people with the greatest intentions find themselves being pulled in directions that demand their time. More often than not, exercise is the one thing that gets pushed aside.
